From Amsterdam to Rosmalen, from June 2nd, 2007 to July 25th, 2015

From Amsterdam to Rosmalen, from June 2nd, 2007 to July 25th, 2015. The road has been long, but Italy is back on the throne of Europe. Team Italy turned in an 11 and 1 record at this year European Softball Championship… with the one loss being avenged in the Finals with a 2 to 1 win over Holland, the one team that they dropped a game to by the final of 1-0 back on July the 22nd. Picking up the win in the championship game was Greta Cecchetti, who ended up out dueling Holland’s mound of Meadows, Soumeu and De Weert, with the suffered by Soumeru after she allowed two runs to cross the plate in the top of inning number 5 as Italy was able to rally for two runs on two hits and an error with the games tying and eventual winning runs being driven in by Trevisan. For Cecchetti it was her 3 win in just a span of two days at the European Softball Championship tournament. The win marks the tenth time in Italy’s history that they have been crowned European Softball Champions.
