Team Italy roster announced for Women’s Softball World Cup Finals in Castions di Strada
Azzurre manager Federico Pizzolini has revealed the 16 players that will represent Team Italy at the XVII Women’s Softball World Cup Finals in Castions di Strada from July 15-20, 2024
Team Italy softball manager Federico Pizzolini, special advisor Mike Candrea and coaches Giulio Brusa and Nancy Evans had to make some big decisions when narrowing down the roster to 16 players for the upcoming Women’s Softball World Cup Finals. Federico Pizzolini said, “The roster was defined with a very specific criterion in regards to those with the greatest amount of experience. However, we will utilize Noemi Giacometti as our bullpen catcher and keep a close eye on the young and promising Felicia Di Pancrazio, who we will see again soon when she makes her Elite National Team debut.”
The coaching staff and squad will be assisted in Castions di Strada by team physician Dr. Alessandro Maria Butta, physiotherapist Federica Frediani and delegation manager Isabella Dalbesio.
Noemi Giacometti will accompany the team as the bullpen catcher.
Italian skipper Federico Pizzolini commented, “The exhibition games against the University of Arizona recently helped us a lot to define our preparation in every department. We are improving day by day: the offense is doing well, the pitchers are increasing their strength and performance. Some aspects of the defense are certainly getting better. But I am sure that in a week we will be ready, with a strong team determined to achieve an important objective.”
