Mexico knocks Team Emilia out of the Little League World Series

The adventure at the Little League World Series for Team Emilia ended after two defeats, the second coming at 12-7 at the hands of Mexico

The adventure at the Little League World Series for Team Emilia ended after two defeats, the second coming at 12-7 at the hands of Mexico.  The underdog Italians couldn't hold back the mighty Mexico offense who built to a 12-1 lead by the sixth inning, but rather than accept defeat, Italy fought to the end, mounting an emotional six run rally to make the game closer and end their bid for the championship on a high note. The team will get another chance to play and try for a victory, playing a consolation game against Bend, Oregon.  While Italy was an expected underdog, it was worth noting that defending champion Japan also lost their first two games and were eliminated from contention as well.

Gamberini had three hits for Italy, and Persici had two hits including a rally starting double in the sixth.
