Rimini alone once again at the top

Down in Rome it was the Rimini Pirates that road Candelario to the 1-0 victory over Nettuno on Friday evening

Down in Rome it was the Rimini Pirates that road Candelario to the 1-0 victory over Nettuno on Friday evening. Candelario lasted a complete 7 innings on the bump, putting up zeros across the board all while striking out 8 Nettuno batters. His counterpart, Estrada also had a nice night on the hill, as he struck out 10 in his 6 innings of work. Rimini’s run came in the 5th after Babini reached on a dropped third strike, followed up by a bunt that pushed him to second and a single to left off the bat of Desimoni that pushed him across home plate for the 1-0 lead and eventual victory. The win went to Candelario and the loss to Estrada, while it was Victor Moreno who picked up the save pitching both the 8th and 9th. This two game set will conclude tonight in Rome with a game time of 8:30 pm.

             

T&A San Marino got past Nettuno2 on Friday evening in San Marino with a huge 7 run 5th off of Noberto Gonzalez. T&A batted around off of Gonzalez, picking up a total of 7 hits in the frame. In the top of the 7th Nettuno2 got on the board themselves with 2 runs off of Figueroa thanks to a single off the bat of Zappone, a triple off the bat of Mercuri and a RBI groundout off the bat Marval. T&A scored once again in the 8th on a Pulzetti double and a single to center off the bat of Albanese for the 8 to 2 lead. In the 9th Nettuno2 made the game a little bit more interesting when Marval took Teran deep over the right field fence for a 3 run homer that pulled his club to within just 3 runs. However Teran was able to settle down and conserve the win for Rodney Rodriguez. This two game set will conclude tonight in San Marino with a game time of 8:30 pm.          

The Godo Knights kept their momentum going on Friday evening with a 2 to 1 win over Parma in Godo. It was Sanchez for the second weekend in a row that showed off his power with a solo shot in the 1st off of Jimenez for his third homer in his last two games. In the 6th Parma was able to tie the game up at 1-all after Luca Gregorini led off the inning with a walk and later came around to score on a single up the middle off the bat of Noguera. In the 7th Godo took what would turn out to be the definitive lead off of Acosta when Gomez singled up the middle to plate Servidei for the 2-1 lead. Earning the victory for Godo was Uviedo with a strong 7 inning performance, while the save went to Ribeiro and the loss to Nivaldo Acosta.

     

Game one of the two game set between Padova and Bologna was rained out, pushing the two game series back a day with game one to be played out today in Padova at 15:30 and game two in Bologna on Sunday at 12:00.
