Rimini punches playoff ticket, Padova over San Marino, Nettuno fading fast, while Bologna wins easily

Padova came out with a huge win over T&A San Marino on Friday night in Padova. The score in this one went by the final of 4 to 2 with Simone Bazzarini picking up the win out of the pen with a very solid four innings of work in relief of Enrico Crepaldi. The win puts Padova at a one game advantage over San Marino in the standing with 3 to go, but more importantly it pushes their magic postseason number to just a single game. Suffering the loss for San Marino was Rodney Rodriguez. The top performers at the plate for Padova were Nick Nosti in the leadoff spot with his 2 for 5, 2 run scored day, along with Laidel Chapelli and his perfect 4 for 4 evening with 1 run scored and 1 RBI at the dish. This two game set will conclude tonight in San Marino at 8:30 pm.

     

In Rimini, the home Pirates secured a postseason birth thanks to a 4 to 1 win over Parma on Friday evening. The Pirates needed just one 4 run frame to get past the last place Parma squad on Friday evening, a frame that saw 4 runs scored off of 5 hits, 3 of which with bunt singles. The win was picked up by Alexis Candelario, the save by Victor Moreno, while the loss was suffered by Yoimer Camacho who came on in relief of a very strong Nibaldo Acosta (5 ip, 2 h, 0 r, 1 bb, 2 so). This two game set will conclude tonight in Parma at 8:30 pm. 

Nettuno2 may have closed the door on any hope Nettuno may have had at a postseason run after they picked up the 5-4 win in their series opener on Friday evening down in Rome. The win was picked up by the southpaw, Noberto Gonzalez for Nettuno2, while on Nettuno’s side of the ball it was Paul Estrada who suffered the loss. Federico Cozzolino came on for the 2 inning save for Angel Service Nettuno2. At the plate it was José Flores at Osman Marval that did most of the damage for Nettuno, as the two accounted for all of the recorded runs batted in. This two game set will conclude tonight in Rome at 8:30 pm.

In Godo, UnipolSai Bologna had absolutely no problems taking care of the Godo Knights on Friday, as they were able to walk away with the 8-0 victory on the backs Rivero, Marinez (win) and Fleming. Suffering the loss for Godo was Ronald Uviedo. At the plate it was Claudio Liverziani who led the way for Bologna with his impressive 3 for 4, 2 rbi day.
