Topping off this weekends IBL headlines is the 100 career victory for Riccardo De Santis, a victory that was much needed in the eyes of a Bologna club that dropped their first contest of the season on Friday evening to Tommasin Padova. The final in game two of this two game set turned out to be a 16 to 4 blowout victory in favor of Bologna, bringing their weekend record to a 1 and 1 mark before heading into what will be a very difficult week two against T&A San Marino in a home-away series next weekend. Both Bologna and Padova exchanged blows early on in this contest with 3 runs apiece after an inning of play, however a big 7 run 4th pretty much put the contest away with Bologna proving to be too strong in the box and on the bump for Tommasin Padova. Next week it will be Bologna vs. San Marino, while Tommasin Padova will have their hands full once again with the Rimini Pirates.

In Rimini the Pirates were able to walk away with two wins on the day over Nettuno thanks to a afternoon win to go along with a 3-2 walk off victory in the evening game of the double header. The winning run was driven in off the bat of Ray Olmedo, which officially got the Rimini Pirates off to a 2 and 0 start in 2015. Game two didn't get going as expected with Candelario on the bump, as the righty surrendered 2 runs in the top of the 3rd to Nettuno. The Pirates were able to tie the game up a 2-all in the bottom of the 6th, while their pen of Escalona and Moreno did their job by holding Nettuno’s offense in check from the 5th to the 9th. Finally, in the bottom half of the 9th with one out and a runner on third, Olmedo was able to drive a ball through the left side of the diamond for the victory. Next week the Pirates will be taking on Padova while Nettuno will be welcoming in the Godo Knights for their home opener down in Nettuno.

T&A San Marino walked away with a two game sweep of Angel Service Nettuno2 down in Rome after they walked away with a fairly easy 7 to 3 win on Saturday evening. San Marino got on the board first in the top half of inning number 1 on a sac fly off the bat of Ramos. T&A then went on to score 6 more runs between the 5th through 7th to put the score at 7-0, a run total that wouldn't be answered until Nettuno2 countered for 3 run in the bottom of the 9th… 4 runs too little, getting the club off to a false 0-2 start in 2015. Next week San Marino will be locked up in a very interesting two game series with Bologna, while Nettuno2 will face off against Parma in Parma.

In Parma the Godo Knights were able to come up with the two game split thanks to a 2-1 victory on Saturday evening. The ‘W’ went to Matteo Galeotti with his 7 innings pitched were he surrendered just 1 run off of 3 hits, while the save was earned by the ex Parma southpaw, Nicolò Loardi. Matteo Spada suffered the loss for Parma in relief of Yomel Rivera. Both runs for Godo came in the 7th on a 2 RBI double off the bat of Gomez. Next week Parma will be locked up in a two game set with Nettuno2 at home, while the Godo Knights will be heading down south to Nettuno for two.
