The Rimini Pirates picked up the three game sweep of Tommasin Padova after taking home Saturday evenings game in a big way… 10-0 was the final with Carlos Richetti absolutely dominating on the mound (0 R, 1 H, 1BB, 2 HBP, 6 SO), while the offense was led by the likes of Giuseppe Mazzanti (2 for 3, 3 runs scored, 5 RBI’s, 2 Home Runs) and Leonardo Zileri (2 for 4, 1 run, 2 RBI’s… 1 Home Run). On Padova’s side of the ball it was Lopez that suffered the loss, as he lasted just 3.1 on the bump, where he allowed 8 runs off of 8 hits and 3 walks. His relief, Calero didn't fair all that much better as he allowed another 5 hits and 2 runs in his 2.2 innings of work. At the plate the Rimini Pirates banged out an impressive 13 hits on the game with 4 players recording multi hit performances (Romero, Mazzanti, Zileri, Macaluso). With the win Rimini improves to 4 and 2 in the semifinals round, while Tommasin Padova drops to 0 and 6.

UnipolSai Bologna got past T&A San Marino for the second time in their three game set in order to take the series and hold onto the lead in the IBL’s semifinals round. The win was awarded to Cova in relief of a very strong Rivero who tossed up 8 innings of 1 run 3 hit ball, while it was Alessandro Vaglio who picked up the game winning hit in the bottom of the 10th off of D’Amico on a ball that was banged over the head of Carlos Duran in center field. The win by Bologna now puts them at 5 and 1 in the semifinals round, 1 game up on the Rimini Pirates and 2 on T&A San Marino whose record fell to 3 and 3. Next week Bologna will be locked up in a three game set with Rimini, while it will be San Marino and Padova on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
