Rimini ties the series with San Marino, Bologna once again over Padova

The Rimini Pirates were able to tie up their three game set with T&A San Marino on Friday evening in Rimini thanks to a strong start on the offensive side of the ball that saw them score two runs in each of the first 3 innings on their way to the 6 to 4 victory that was picked up by the newly acquired Pete Parise (5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 3 K’s)

The Rimini Pirates were able to tie up their three game set with T&A San Marino on Friday evening in Rimini thanks to a strong start on the offensive side of the ball that saw them score two runs in each of the first 3 innings on their way to the 6 to 4 victory that was picked up by the newly acquired Pete Parise (5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 3 K’s). On T&A San Marino’s side of the ball it was a false start to say the least for Berg, who lasted just 2 innings, giving up 4 runs off of 7 hits and 2 walks. Every single starter in Rimini’s lineup recorded at lest a hit, with both Olmedo and Mazzanti picking up two apice. San Marino did do their best to get back in the game thanks to a 2 run shot of the vey hot Vasquez (3 for 4, 1 run, 2 RBI’s) in the third, to go along with runs in the 6th and 9th to pull to within just 2 runs… However it was Victor Moreno who able to hold onto for the save, tying the series up at 1-all. This three game set will conclude tonight in San Marino with the game time set for 9:00 pm local time. 

UnipolSai Bologna got past Tommasin Padova on Friday evening in Bologna, officially winning this three game series after their win on Thursday evening in Padova. The final in this one was three to two, with Alex Sambucci driving in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the 8th on a single off Bazzarini (loosing pitcher). Picking up the win on Bologna’s side of the ball was Luca Panerati, who came on in relief of Riccardo De Santis, who went the first 4.1 innings of the game (3 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, 2 K’s). Coming on for the save in the 9th was Filippo Crepaldi, who faced the minimum with a strikeout to his name. At the plate for Bologna it was Suarez that continued his hot hitting with yet another multi hit performance, going 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI. This three game set will conclude tonight in Padova at 9:00 pm local time.
