In Bologna it was San Marino that was able to get back on track with the 5-4 victory over UnipolSai Bologna. The win was picked up by Andrea Pizziconi who tossed up an impressive 5.2 innings on the bump allowing just 3 runs (1 earned) against a very tough Bologna lineup. On the backend it was D’Amico (1.2 ip, 1 h, 2 bb, 0 r) that earned the save in relief of Junior Oberto who pitched 1.2 innings in relief of Pizziconi. On the other side of the diamond De Santis suffered the loss after allowing 5 runs between the 3rd and 4th. In the box both Duran and Chiarini picked up 2 hits apiece, while once again Duran and this time Ramos drove in 2 runs apiece… accounting for 4 of the 5 runs that San Marino scored on the game. Next week San Marino will be locked up in another tough home-away two game set with the Rimini Pirates, while Bologna will be welcoming in Nettuno2 for a two game series.
Tommasin Padova continued to impress with another huge victory over the Rimini Pirates in Rimini on Monday by the final of 6 to 2. Picking up the win for Padova was the southpaw Enrico Crepaldi who was followed up by Faccini and Meschini on hill. Suffering the loss on Rimini’s side of the ball was Roberto Corradini who lasted just 3.2 innings on the hill, allowing 3 runs off of 6 hits. Padova’s offense proved to be the difference in this one, with the club combining for a total of 11 hits, four of which were picked up by Nick Nosti. Next week Padova will try to continue their success against the Godo Knights in a home-away two game set, while Rimini will have a very important and tough test against San Marino.
