San Marino over Rimini in a wild one, Bologna over Nettuno2

In a game that was definitely influenced by the calls made behind the dish (17 walks called), San Marino was able to walk away with much needed game one victory over their archrival, the Rimini Pirates, on Thursday evening in San Marino

In a game that was definitely influenced by the calls made behind the dish (17 walks called), San Marino was able to walk away with much needed game one victory over their archrival, the Rimini Pirates, on Thursday evening in San Marino. Rimini got off to the 4-0 lead in this one, a score that was quickly turned around by the 4th inning of play, as it was T&A that got out to a 10-7 advantage after 4 in both the 2nd and 3rd frames and 2 in the 4th off of  Candelario and Escalona. At the plate it was the trio of Duran, Imperiali and Albanese that did most of the damage with the sticks… all driving in three runs apiece. The win in this wild one was awarded to Carlos Teran, while the loss was suffered by Candelario. This two game derby will come to a conclusion tonight in Rimini with a game time scheduled for 8:30 pm.

   

UnipolSai Bologna came out on top on Thursday evening down in Rome by the final of 2-0 over Angel Service Nettuno2. Over the course of the evening Bologna used a total of 4 arms, with Fleming going the first 4 (74 pitches, 2 hits, 2 walks), Marinez (2, W), Pugliese (1) and Rivero (2, S). Bologna picked up both their both their runs in the top of the 6th when with two outs in their frame they were able to load the bases with a walk to Suarez, a single off the bat of Vaglio and a walk to Rodriguez, then with the bases loaded it was Sambucci that came up with a single through the 5.5 hole on a 2-1 count that drove in both Suarez and Vaglio. Suffering the loss for Nettuno2 was the southpaw, Gonzalez, in a brilliant effort (5.2 innings pitched, 5 H, 2 R, 4 W, 4 K’s). This two game set will conclude tonight in Rome with a game time of 8:30 pm.
