Specchiano Bussolengo took home the 2015 Italian Softball League’s top prize after they were able to get past Fiorini Forlí on Sunday afternoon in game 5 of the best of 5 series in Forlí by the final of 2 to 1. Picking up the win was the Final’s MVP, Hylie Wagner, as she was able to hold off a late comeback with her complete game 4 hit performance. Suffering the loss on Forlí’s side was Blaire Luna. Luna gave up her only two runs of the game in the top of the 6th on a single down the right field off the bat of O’Brien that plated both Princic and Boniardi. Luna gave up a total of 6 knocks on the afternoon, while striking out 14 and giving up just 1 earned run. Forlí did make a run for it in the bottom of the 7th when they were able to pull to within a run after Montanari crossed home plate on a throwing error. That would be it however as Forlí would end up stranding the basses loaded, with Haylie Wagner recording all three final outs of the ball game via the strikeout.
