UnipolSai Bologna was riding high last night at home thanks to the heroics of Cesar Suarez and his bottom of the ninth, two out, down by a run walk off two run homer off of Nicholas Morreale. San Marino had everything working for them, having scored 5 times between the 7th and 8th to take the 5-1 advantage with Cubillan on the bump. However, the veteran Cubillan wasn't able to hold the fort in the bottom of the 8th, allowing Bologna to plate 3… which pulled them to with just a run heading into the 9th. In the 9th with Morreale on for the save, he was able to get Infante to go down on strikes, but then ended up hitting Ambrosino on a 2-1 count which put the tying run on base. With one out, Liverziani lifted a ball to center for out number two in the frame. Then came Suarez, who on a 1-1 count absolutely destroyed a ball that ended up flying well over the left field fence for the 6-5 walk off win. Picking up the win in relief was Cadoni, while the loss went to Morreale. This three game set will conclude tonight in San Marino at 9 pm local time.

The Rimini Pirates got back on track with the 5-1 win over Tommasin Padova on Friday evening in Rimini. The win comes after they dropped a close one the night before in extras in game one of this three game set. Picking up the win for the Pirates was Richetti, while Bertolini earned the save out of the pen with a superb 4 innings of scoreless work in relief. After going down 1-0 in the second, it was Olmedo that got things going with the bat thanks to his solo shot, which began a 3 run frame with the other two runs being driven in by Zileri and Macaluso. In the seventh De Simoni was able to tack on another 2 runs for Rimini thanks to his 2 run inside the park homer. This three game set will come to a conclusion tonight in Padova with the game being scheduled to get underway at 9 pm.
