Leading Italy’s Serie A1 League in hits (18), runs scored (13), RBI (13), doubles (5), home runs (4) and total bases (37), Parma Clima outfielder Sebastiano Poma is on fire with a .450 batting average. Sebastiano Poma is the proud son of Parma Clima manager Gianguido Poma, who won Italian Baseball League Championships and Champions' Cups playing in Bologna and Parma during the 80’s and 90’s.

Sebastiano Poma was born a champion in 1993 to mother Simona Gennari, who was an all-star softball catcher in Parma. Growing up playing ball in Collecchio, the promising Sebastian Poma showed great potential at a young age as he was accepted at the FIBS Baseball Academy in 2008.

The hard work paid off in the end as former Parma manager and current Team Italy manager Gilberto “Gibo” Gerali invited Sebastiano Poma to represent Team Europe in the 2015 Asia Winter League. The talented left-handed outfielder later played for Team Italy in the 2016 European Championship and the 2017 World Baseball Classic.

He has since been playing internationally for Team Italy and at home in the Serie A1 League for Parma Clima along with Azzurri teammates Mattia Aldegheri, Stefano Desimoni, Riccardo Flisi, Junior Oberto, Aldo Koutsoyanopulos, Mattia Mercuri, Ricardo Paolini, Yomel Rivera, Alex Sambucci, Luca Scalera, and Leo Zileri.
