Team Italy slugger Alex Liddi enjoys MVP status in Chinese Professional Baseball League

In front of the hometown crowd at Taiwan's Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium on May 3, 2019, Chinatrust Brothers' third baseman Alex Liddi hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to beat the Latigo Monkeys 10-9 and become the Most Valuable Player of the game. He homered in back-to-back games on May 2 and 3 to keep the hot Chinese Brothers' winning streak alive (currently at six). In 54 at-bats this season, Alex Liddi has a .276 batting average and a .574 slugging percentage with four doubles and four home runs. He has fast become a fan favorite with autograph seekers lining up at the stadium for their chance to meet the first Italian-born and developed player to make it to MLB (Seattle Mariners, 2011).
