Alex Liddi, the first Italian-born-and-developed player to make it to MLB (Seattle Mariners, 2011), returns to Liga Mexicana del Pacífico’s Venados de Mazatlán for the 2018-2019 winter league season.estadio de Venados Mazatlán, Teodoro Mariscal In 2016 he became the first Italian to play in the Caribbean Series when joining Mexico’s Venados de Mazatlán. Better known as Serie de Caribe or the Caribbean World Series, the competition is Latin America’s highest level baseball tournament at the club level featuring the respective champions from Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Venezuela. In his final four games playing for Venados de Mazatlán, Alex Liddi went 4-for-17 with a double and a triple to help the Mexican champions become the 2016 Caribbean Series champions.

After undergoing left knee surgery, Alex Liddi returned to his winning form by powering Toros de Tijuana to the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol (LMB) championship in 2017. Alex Liddi hopes to bring back some Mazatlán magic on the coast of Baja California. In fact, over the years he has established himself as a winter ball premier player in Northwest Mexico after stints in Obregón, Culiacán and Jalisco.
