Italian manager Enrico Obletter sent out starting pitcher Giorgia Telò in game one. Relievers Maya Milano, Chiara Marazzi and Chiara Rusconi also saw action on the mound out of the Azzurre bullpen. The Team Italy offense was absent for the first four innings. Down 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning, the U19 Juniors got on the board after singles from Sofia Fabbian, Alessia Colonna, and Flavia Carletti. Team Italy added another run in the bottom of the sixth inning when Sara Cianfriglia singled and scored on an RBI double by Sofia Fabbian.

Skipper Enrico Obletter switched up his lineup for game two, and it produced remarkable results. Susanna Soldi led off as designated player, and she was followed by: Sara Camisasca at shortstop, Elisa Princic at second base, Alessia Colonna in right field, Silvia Gerbella at first base, Sofia Fabbian in center field, Francesca Cumero at third base, Noemi Giacometti in left field, and Martina Di Matteo as catcher. Starting pitcher Chiara Rusconi and the trio of relievers Susanna Soldi, Maya Milano and Giorgia Telò dominated the Peruvians in game two of the doubleheader. The Team Italy offense was fueled by triples from Sara Camisasca and Arianna Nicolini. The Azzurre Juniors are working diligently to prepare for the U19 Women's Softball World Cup from August 11-17, 2019 in Irvine, California. The Team Italy Seniors are next in line to battle the Peruvian National Softball Team in Saronno with exhibition games on March 27 at 1 pm and again on March 28 at 5 pm. All eyes are on Team Italy pitcher Lisa Birocci Banse, who is making a comeback in hopes of helping manager Enrico Obletter on the field rather than on the coaching staff.
