The time has come for the 2014 Italian Softball Series to get underway, and this year’s event will feature the defending Champs, Rhibo La Loggia who will face off against Specchiasol Bussolengo. Both clubs are coming off of fantastic season, and both clubs have without deserved the right to face off for the Italian Softball League’s top title.
Both of the clubs facing off for this year’s Italian Softball League’s top prize are the same two clubs that finished at the top of their respective divisions in the regular season, with Rhibo La Loggia finishing ahead of Bollate in Division A at 15 and 5, while Bussolengo finished with an almost perfect 19 and 1 mark. In this year’s semifinals Rhibo had a much easier time then did Bussolengo in their path towards the ISL finals. Rhibo took their series over Forlí 3 games to 1, while Specchiasol Bussolengo had to sweat it out a little more then did their finals counterpart, beating Bollate in a walk of one to nothing game five matchup.
The series will get underway this afternoon and evening in La Loggia (Turin, Italy) with a double header that will kick off at 18:30 (Game 1) and 21:00 (Game 2) local time. Game 3 will then take place next Saturday in Bussolengo at 18:30, while the if necessary game 4 will kick off at 21:00 on the 12th of July, and game five on Sunday the 13th of July at 10:00.
