Tommasin Padova finished off their round robin semifinals round on a winning note after they were able to walk away with the easy 10-3 victory over T&A San Marino on Saturday evening in Padova. Picking up the win for Padova was Yorfrank Lopez with his 7 innings of 3 hit, 2 run ball. At the plate for Padova it was Epifano that did most of the damage, going 4 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI’s. Chapelle and Malengo also had productive evenings at the dish, each picking up 2 hits apiece, while Malengo was able to plate 3 in his 4 ABs. Suffering the loss for San Marino was their southpaw, Rodney Rodriguez. Both of these clubs will now be moving onto the Italian Cup Tournament after being eliminated from the IBL’s Postseason.

UnipolSai Bologna completed the three game sweep of a depleted Rimini squad on Saturday evening with the 7 to 3 victory. The win was picked up by Cadoni with his three innings of work out of the pen, while the loss was suffered by Escalona in his shortened 2 inning outing, lasting just long enough to break a sweat in preparation for next weeks IBL Finals. At the plate for Bologna, it was Suarez who had a nice evening with his 3 for 5 performance, while Ambrosino did a little yard work off of Cherubini in the 6th when he cleared the left field fence for a three run homer. These two clubs will meet up again next week on Thursday and Friday for games one and two of the Italian Baseball Series.
