The Rimini Pirates had no problems taking care of Nettuno2 on Saturday evening down in Rome, as they were able to walk away with the decisive 10-4 win thanks to a mirage of hits… 15 hits in all were accumulated in the contest with both Zileri and Olmedo banging out 3 hits apiece, while Romero, Mazzanti and Di Fabo all had multi hit performances. Picking up the win for Rimini out of the pen was Carlos Richetti with his 3 innings of work were he allowed no runs and just a single hit. The win puts Rimini at a 6 and 2 mark on the season, while Nettuno2 continues to struggle with a 2 and 6 record.
Bologna was able to complete the sweep over Parma on Sunday, however not in the way that most would have pictured. Bologna's offensive once again struggled to put anything together against Parma’s mound, as they picked up just 6 hits on the game, three of which came off the bat of Claudio Liverziani. On the mound it was De Santis that picked up the win with a strong 6 innings of work where he allowed no runs on just 2 hits and a walk. On the back end of the game it was Filippo Crepaldi that that earned the save with 2 flawless innings on the rubber. Bologna now sits with a 6 and 2 record before their big 2 game set with Rimini next weekend, while Parma falls to 2 and 6.
T&A San Marino completed the two game sweep over the Godo Knights on Sunday afternoon with the 3-2 win. Picking up the win for San Marino out of the pen was Junior Oberto, who came on in relief of Andrea Pizziconi. While on Godo’s side of the ball Loardi suffered the loss in relief of Galeotti. San Marino scored first in this one with a single run in the top of the first on a single off the bat of Vasquez that plated Santora from third. In the 4th Godo took the lead on a 2 RBI single down the right field line off the stick of Pizzorni, giving Godo the 2-1 advantage. However in the top of the 8th the tables would turn once again as it was Ermini that came up with the big 2 RBI double off of Loardi, putting the score at its final of 3-2. San Marino improves to 5 and 3, while Godo falls to 1 and 6.
In Padova it was Nettuno that came out on top in game two of the two game set. It was no easy victory to stay the least as 10 innings were need to decide the victor. The loss was Padova’s first since the first weekend of the regular season. Nettuno out slugged Padova 15 to 7, of which included yet another multi hit performance off the bat of José Ferrini who went 4 for 5 at the dish. The decisive inning in this one turned out to be the 10th when Nettuno was able to cross 3 runs off of 4 hits and an error, of which included an RBI double off the bat of Paoletti and an RBI single off the bat of D’Amico. Padova did manage to get on the board with a run of their own in the bottom half of he the 10th, however the game would finish 7-5 in favor of Nettuno as they improved to a 3 and 4 mark, while Padova with the loss still sits at an impressive 6 and 2 thus far in 2015.
