The Top 4 Face Off in the Italian Baseball League

The Rimini Pirates vs

The Rimini Pirates vs. Tommasin Padova

Game 1: Friday @ 8:30 pm in Rimini - Game 2: Saturday @ 8:30 pm in Padova

The Rimini Pirates will be out for a little revenge this weekend when they take on Tommasin Padova in a two game set after it was Padova that swept the two game series back at the beginning of April the first time these two clubs met up. Scheduled to take the ball on Friday evening for the Pirates will be the hard throwing righty, Candelario, while on Saturday evening it looks to be Richetti who will be getting the nod for the second straight weekend. On Padova’s side of the ball look for manager Smith to hand the ball off to Quevedo in game one and the southpaw, Enrico Crepaldi in game two. At the moment Padova sits just a single game back of Rimini in the standings with a 10 and 6 mark thus far in 2015.

UnipolSai Bologna vs. T&A San Marino

Game 1: Friday @ 8:30 pm in Bologna - Game 2: Saturday @ 8:30 pm in San Marino

At the moment UnipolSai Bologna is sitting just a single game up on both San Marino (this weeks opponent) and Padova, while they find themselves in a deadlock tie at the top with the Rimini Pirates at an 11 and 5 mark. The last time Bologna and T&A locked horns the series ended in a two game split with Bologna taking game one by the final of 6 to 4, while it was T&A who rode a strong pitching performance by Pizziconi to a 5-4 victory in game two. Going for Bologna on their home turf on Friday evening will be their foreigner, Fleming, while in the Italian game look for De Santis to get the nod when the series shifts to San Marino. On San Marino’s side of the diamond it will be Rodney Rodriguez in Bologna and Andrea Pizziconi in San Marino on Saturday.

Nettuno2 vs. Parma

Game 1: Friday @ 8:30 pm in Rome - Game 2: Saturday @ 8:30 pm in Rome

Two of the bottom dwellers will be locked up in a two game set on Friday and Saturday down in Rome. Both clubs have struggled mightily thus far in 2015 with Nettuno2 bettering Parma by a single win in the standings at a 5 and 11 mark. Going for Nettuno2 on Friday evening will be the lefty, Gonzalez, while Milvio Andreozzi should take the ball in game two on Saturday. For Parma it will be two lefties… Jimenez in the foreign game and Rivera in the Italian game.

The Godo Knights vs. Nettuno

Game 1: Friday @ 8:30 pm in Godo - Game 2: Saturday @ 8:30 pm in Godo

The final matchup of the weekend is an interesting one to say the least… Both clubs, Godo and Nettuno, come in with sub .500 records thus far in the regular season, however both are still alive in terms of a playoff birth. Currently Nettuno is siting one better in the standings with a 7 and 8 mark, two games back in the loss column of both San Marino and Padova, while Godo comes in at 6 and 9. Going for Godo on Friday will be Uviedo, while it will be a so far surprising solid Galeotti in game two. In Nettuno’s corner it will be Estrada in game one and Costantini in game two.
