UnipolSai Bologna came out winners of the Paris European Championship tournament thanks to a 2-1 win over the Amsterdam Pirates on Sunday afternoon. The win was picked up by Marquis Fleming, who tossed up a very strong 6 inning of work, allowing just 1 run off of 3 hits and 2 walks. The save went to Nicholas Pugliese who offered up a perfect 9th inning of work, striking out two of the three batters he faced. Both of Bologna’s runs came in the bottom of the first on a one out, two RBI single up the middle off the bat of Rodriguez that plated both Fuzzi and Liverziani. In the top of inning number two Amsterdam would counter with a run on two hits and two walks. That would be it for the scoring in this one as both mounds would settle down for what turned out to be a pitchers duel, that ended in favor of the Italians.

Now Bologna will take on Rotterdam (winners of the Rotterdam European Champions tournament - Rotterdam over Brno: ) later on this summer for the chance at taking home their second EU title in the last three years.
